AN INTRODUCTION TO THROWING SKILLS - PART 3

Throwing Principles

3)  Keep your centre of gravity low.  Your centre of gravity should be below your opponent's centre of gravity, in order to generate the lift or to ‘topple' your opponent. The best way to ensure this is to make sure that your hips are below your opponent's hips (Figs. 7 & 8). In this way you will be able to use your hips to pivot your opponent's weight over (rather than trying to bear your opponents weight).
